In the southern Mediterranean countries, there are - who have not heard one of them - a serious problem of forest fires, especially in the extremely dry summer months.
Not always, but these disasters are caused by carelessly discarded cigarette or heated glass bottles: Very often the fires striking out systematically in several places almost simultaneously. A single pyromaniac may cause huge damage and involve forces for days in a "hot" show.
