The elderly, retired KGB Major General Yuri Drozdov makes in an interview with the Russian 1st channel an interesting comment:

Angela Merkel have studied at the Polytechnic High School in her youth in Donetsk. The Chancellor is known for its excellent knowledge of Russian.

The remark Drozdovs falls towards the end of the broadcast.
